A+Plus Driving School Terms of Service (Teens)

Cancellation policy: Students will be charged a $25.00 cancellation fee if the scheduled behind the wheel lesson is canceled within 24 hours or less.  This would include a forgotten or lost permit.  The student must have a valid permit with them for each and every time they drive.  If the student is unable to present a valid permit at the start of the scheduled drive time, this would cause the instructor to cancel the lesson and a cancellation fee would apply.

Items left behind: Students please be sure to take all of your belongings with you when you leave the classroom and the driver’s instructional vehicle.  Neither the driving school, nor the instructors are responsible for items lost such as: cell phones, permits, books, purses/wallets iPods etc.

Proper footwear: Shoes should fit properly, snugly, and securely.  Do not drive with shoes such as: flip-flops, sandals, untied shoes, or any shoe that can slip off your feet easily, as this can cause a dangerous situation.  If your instructor arrives for your drive time and you do not have the proper footwear on or available, this can result in a canceled lesson and the cancellation fee will apply.

Conduct: Disorderly conduct of any kind is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.  This may result in expulsion from the class/school.  In the event of a dismissal, for any reason, there will be NO refunds.  There will be a zero tolerance program applied.

Attendance: Students are allowed to miss up to four classes, however all classes missed must be made up.  Any student who misses more than four classes must re-enroll in a future class and a $50.00 reinstatement fee will be applied.  The Secretary of State requirements call for: 30 hours of classroom instructional time.  To complete the classroom portion the student must have passed the following: Smith System Quiz, mid-term test, and a final exam or students permit will be void.

Cell phone/electronic device usage: Students will not be allowed to use their cell phones or any electronic devices while in the classroom or in the driver’s instruction vehicle. This policy includes talking or texting on a mobile device.  Students may bring a cell phone to class or the instruction vehicle but must be set to silent/vibrate and to be used only in an emergency.  This policy will be strictly enforced.

Certification: In order to qualify for a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETEION (blue slip) from the State of Illinois, the school must certify that you have successfully completed the entire curriculum which includes: 30 hours of classroom time, 6 hours of BTW (behind the wheel) time, and 6 hours of OBS (observation) time, along with passing grades for exams.  Student must also have turned in proof of 8 passing grades from the previous two (2) semesters of school.  The program tuition must be paid in full before the school will apply for student certification.
